Anderson Soil & Water Conservation District

CONTESTS, Awards, & SCHOLARSHIPS

Each year the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) hosts a Stewardship Week with an environmental theme. The NACD's Stewardship Week is a national initiative dedicated to promoting the conservation of natural resources. Anderson Soil and Water Conservation District participates in this annual Stewardship Week celebration by having several K-12th grade contests that focus on this theme and two scholarships for high school seniors.
This year's Stewardship Week will be April 27 - May 4, 2025. Our theme is "Home is Where the Habitat is." This theme highlights the vital role native habitats play in sustaining biodiversity, storing carbon, and protecting soil and water resources. When animals, plants, and aquatic life have healthy habitats, it benefits us all by ensuring ecosystem stability, enhancing natural beauty, supporting clean air and water, and creating a resilient and sustainable environment.
